Staying in Boston

WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE GENEROUS SUPPORT OF THE FOLLOWING SPONSORS

A Boston institution for over 20 years, The Pour House opened its doors to us to let us film our bar scenes there, as the place where our good friends meet and talk about life.  Similarly, The Pour House is well known to Bostonians as an inexpensive watering hole for people who want to get down and have a good time.  It specializes in great attitude, and is the perfect place for friends to meet and share a cold beer, a giant nacho platter, or an award-winning burger and just hang out and have fun.  If you’re ever downtown on Boylston Street, be sure to check it out – and tell them Staying in Boston sent ya!

When we needed a cool and funky boutique with great clothes, jewelry, and unique home furnishings, we headed right for Shake the Tree on Salem Street in the North End.  They were kind enough to let us film after-hours one night, and not only did we walk away with some amazing footage, but also with a shopping list a mile long of all the amazing things we wanted to come back for!  Shake the Tree is one of the neighborhood’s most eclectic and trendy boutiques, featuring a wide range of items and the latest clothing collections from designers including Ella Moss, Splendid, Sanctuary, and Velvet, as well as wallets by Hobo, Tano, Latico and Highway, and beautiful jewelry by local artisans.   Voted “Best Neighborhood Shopping” by Boston Magazine; “Best Hidden Gem” by the Improper Bostonian, and “Best Jewelry” by The Boston Phoenix, be sure to check out their monthly cocktail parties featuring their favorite designers and tasty treats from local restaurants.

Founded in 1981 at Boston University by Nobel Laureate Derek Walcott, Boston Playwrights’ Theatre is an award-winning professional theatre dedicated to new works. At the core of their five programs is the MFA in Playwriting, offered as part of Boston University’s prestigious Creative Writing Program. Their award-winning alumni’s works have been produced in regional and New York houses as well as in London’s West End, and their alumni productions have garnered several regional and Boston awards, including regular “Best New Script” nominations for Elliot Norton and Independent Reviewers of New England Awards.

15 Walnut Tavern + Kitchen in South Hamilton, MA was created to be a home away from home featuring cozy seating and comfort food with a little edge.  Friendly bartenders serve up creative cocktails that draw people to the bar. The menu boasts an abundance of brick oven-fired items, great burgers, sushi and salads, making it an easy spot for any occasion from a family dinner to date night.
